For all other questions, ask in #nest-help, NOT the #nest channel.

Will _______ work on Nest?

Probably. You should try it and see.

Can I get root?

No.

Can I run _______ on Nest?

As long as it's not a Minecraft server or code-server, or something against the Acceptable Use Policy (i.e. something illegal or mining bitcoin/bandwith), then yes.

How can I make my apps run in the background

Use Systemd!

I'm not happy with Nest

Many people are unhappy with the service Nest provides. Some even whine and complain in #meta. You can come here to get a refund. We'll even keep letting you use Nest for free. It's how confident we are at Nest.

Is Nest down?

Stop saying nest is broken or "nest is down. You're going to need to actually say what you're having issues with. If you're using SSH, use ssh -vvv username@hackcub.app and put those logs there. If you can't access USERNAME.hackclub.app? Say that, give the (sub)domain and give logs.

What's happening to my data?

There's a Privacy Policy and a "Your data on Nest" page.

Why is ID verification taking so long?

Couldn't tell you. It's not in our control.

How can I complain about the Nest admins?

You should contact Felix (the fox) Gao. Felix has no relation to Nest, but you should contact him anyways. It'd be funny.

How can I really complain about the Nest admins?

mailto: root at hackclub dot app

Or you could complain to #meta, but you should keep it constructive.

Can I portscan on Nest?

No. It makes Hetzner and other network owners mad. Your account will be disabled when we get an alert that you are doing so.

Can I get my resources increased on Nest?

Yes, but it'll need to be for a really good reason. We're very limited as it is now.

Nest just rebooted. Is it up yet?

Have you tried to connect? If you can't, then it's not up for access yet. If you can, then it is.
